Holistic Lifestyle Coaching (HLC)
 

Do you suffer from tiredness, lack of zest, digestive problems, insomnia, poor memory, food cravings, food intolerances, weight problems, stress related illness... Do you want to feel better?

 

HLC is a system of assessing and improving your health. Information from detailed questionnaires is used to create a holistic lifestyle plan, unique to your needs. Using coaching techniques you are guided and supported through the blocks or hiccups you may experience in this process of moving towards a healthier, happier you.

What does holistic really mean?
Holistic means whole. Modern medicine focuses on illness (a part of us) rather than wellness (the whole). A holistic approach recognises that we are physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual beings and we are inseparable from Mother Nature. It is well understood that stress in all its forms can contribute towards illness e.g. chronic pain, high blood pressure.  Comfort eating, yo-yo dieting and cravings for sweet foods are other ways in which this mind-body link can manifest. This is why all aspects of our selves need to be considered, for true health to flourish.

What sort of things will my plan cover?
We will consider levels of stress in various areas of your life and explore how you can implement strategies to manage stress better. We will be focussing on the six foundations of good health:

• Positive Thinking
• Healthy Breathing
• Hydration
• Food Choices
• Sleep
• Exercise

Once these are in place, you have a great foundation for building good health, happiness and contentment.

Is it a Nutritional Programme?
Detailed advice is given on food choices based on a system called Metabolic Typing, (widely used by nutritional therapists, personal trainers and medical doctors in the US). That said this is NOT nutritional therapy. Although certain simple food supplements may be recommended they are not an essential part of the programme.

Are you a Health Nut…
In the last decade doctors and nutritionists (mostly in the US) have realised that individuals differ widely in their nutritional needs, a fact not recognised by the standard "one size fits all" approach to healthy eating. Often diets deemed to be healthy make people feel worse. The HLC healthy eating guidelines are well researched, tailored to you and offer a way of tuning in and working out EXACTLY what is right for you in a simple, no nonsense, fad diet free way.

… A Junk Food Junkie?
There are so many conflicting messages out there - it seems easier to eat whatever you fancy! But beware… modern food technology has been specially developed to fool our senses into craving nutritionally dead pseudo-food. Eating whatever we feel like can be a dangerous lifestyle choice leading to many health serious problems such as heart disease, colon cancer, obesity and diabetes. Generally these problems take a while to manifest; in the meantime you may just feel "fuzzy headed", stressed-out, tired or a bit down. It is obviously well worth changing your eating habits before you become ill. Prevention is always better than cure.

Where Does HLC Come From?
HLC was developed in the US by Paul Chek, an expert in the field of holistic health and corrective / high performance exercise. The HLC system is the distillation of Paul's extensive research and successful treatment of countless clients over the course of over 25 years.

Bach Flower Remedies
I have been using & recommending these 38 remarkably simple & effective remedies for over 15 years. They were developed by Dr Bach a homeopath to help alleviate and balance emotional states. Taking the remedies can help us to cope with the ups and downs of our lives with more balance and ease. 
 
About the Sessions
HLC is based on a coaching model this means that Clients are required to commit fully to their process of change over a set period of time. The initial programme is enough to get most people on their way to health and this consists of one 2 hour session followed by three weekly 45 minute sessions. The whole process takes four weeks, during this time you will have unlimited email support. You also receive a HLC manual which contains all the basic information you need and resources to find out more. Weekly Bach Flower Remedy mixes are also included.

Cost: £200.00
Deposit of £120 plus two further payments of £40 (payable a week in advance of booked sessions).

Follow up sessions (generally not required) are £40 per hour.

Mini HLC / Bach Flower Treatment
For those not ready to commit to the full programme, mini sessions are also available. These 20 minute sessions help to support you through life's difficulties by using the Bach Flower Remedies. Very brief holistic lifestyle advice is given as appropriate.
