About Me

I began my study of yoga as a teenager in 1988. Since then, the yoga postures, meditation and breath awareness have been a huge support to me, enabling me to move more confidently, calmly, freely and steadily through life's ups and downs.

After years of searching for a teacher, I came across Jenny Beeken and the Inner Yoga Trust,

with whom I completed my Teacher's Foundation and Teacher's Awareness Certificate. This training encourages the development of intuition and as a result my practice and teaching is more sensitive and adaptable to individual needs. I am also certified by the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY).

In addition to regular teacher training I have also completed the Foundation Course in Yoga Therapy, with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in conjunction with Yoga Campus. I continue to study how yoga can help us to move towards health and wellness and have completed Yoga Therapy courses in musculo-skeletal problems; respiratory, cardiovascular and digestive problems. I have also completed a teacher training with Julie Friedeberger who specialises in teaching yoga to people living with cancer. My own yoga teacher is Sophy Hoare, a long time student of Vanda Scaravelli.

Other courses of study I have undertaken influence my approach to teaching yoga - particuarly the ITEC course in Massage, Anatomy and Physiology and the Gaia Foundation Course.

I have worked as a Health Advisor for the Haelan Centre for over ten years and have consolidated my broad knowledge of natural health and wellbeing by studying with the CHEK Institute to become a Holistic Lifestyle Coach.
