Being on retreat enables you to take a deeper dive into yoga practices that a 1.5 hours class or even a 3 hour workshop can offer. It takes time to unravel the tension that builds up from our being in the world living our lives.

Retreat in Laid Back Style
Lauderdale House is set in the beautiful Waterlow Park, they are both public spaces. During the lunch break and after the retreat you’re invited to explore the surrounding areas and enjoy the nature. We will weave in some nature immersion practices to the retreat so we can learn from the Wisdom of Nature herself.
You are invited to bring your own lunch, or to visit the Lauderdale House cafe, which has a selection of salads, sandwiches and cakes.
In between classes there will be some opportunities for nature connection, and reflection. Although the park is a public space, there is space enough to find a quiet spot to contemplate whether walking or sitting quietly on the grass or a bench.

What to Bring
Please bring your own yoga equipment. Recommended equipment information here. Basics to bring, yoga mat, yoga belt, blanket, bed pillow, two yoga blocks (flat and wide rather than the brick blocks). Bringing the pillow and the blanket will help you to relax more deeply in the yoga nidra, so it’s is work the hassle!! Chairs are available for meditation practice if you prefer not to sit on the floor.
It’s best to come in comfortable clothes to stretch in although you could change in the toilets if needed.
Also bring a large bottle of water to stay hydrated
Your own packed lunch and snacks if you wish.
- All group yoga tuition: including one somatics class, one yoga class; breath and restorative Yoga Nidra; walking meditation; nature immersion; yoga philosophy and meditation practices.
Prices Don’t Include:
- Travel to and from Lauderdale House
- Drinks and Refreshments
There is a cafe at Lauderdale House, with some gluten-free options. However, if you have particular dietary requirements it may be wise to bring a packed lunch to enjoy on the retreat.
* Payment for your retreat is non-refundable but transferable. If Holistic Yoga or Lauderdale House has to cancel the retreat, your payments will be returned in full.

4:30 – 5:00pm Closing and Meditation
5:00 -5:15pm – Packing Up
5:15 – 5:30 Optional Grounding and Re-Entry Practice, on the lawn in Waterlow Park
